VIDEOGAMES | Earlier today gaming studio Bethesda revealed what your gaming PC will need installed to handle the glory that is The Elder Scrolls V: Skryim. The massive open world RPG will be coming you way in just a few weeks so you better make sure your PC is ready.
If you've got a somewhat decent new PC over the last 4-5 years, it ought to pass the minimum system requirements, but maxing it out would require some beefier quad core gaming rig.
Skyrim Minimum System Requirements:
- Windows 7/Vista/XP (32 or 64 bit)
- Dual Core 2GHz or equivalent CPU
- 2GB RAM
- 6GB free HDD space
- DirectX 9c GPU with 512MB RAM
- DirectX compatible sound card
- Internet access for Steam activation
Skyrim Recommended System Requirements
- Windows 7/Vista/XP (32 or 64 bit)
- Quad-core Intel/AMD CPU
- 4GB RAM
- DirectX 9.0c compatible NVIDIA or AMD ATI video card with 1GB of RAM (Nvidia GeForce GTX 260 or higher; ATI Radeon 4890 or higher).
- DirectX compatible sound card
- Internet access for Steam activation
So if you are playing Battlefield 3 already, your computer will probably handle Skyrim as well, but if not you could always get a console version of the game instead, as it's also heading for the Xbox 360 as well as Playstation 3.

Lastly, the announcement was made by Pete Hines via Twitter where he stated that the Minimum specs get you playing, the recommended specs let you play on High, not on Ultra. You'll want a beefier rig for that.
